Indo-Portuguese bed cover, from the 17th century, in linen embroidered with polychrome silk thread, against a background partially filled. Central part framed by a large band. The central part displays a profuse decoration representing hunting scenes in a thick forest. The hunters, amongst whom one on horseback, are represented with European clothes, dressed with shorts and a doublet and holding various weapons. Amongst the decoration there is a representation of a wide variety of smaller and larger animals: deer and moose, leopards,serpents, boars, birds of paradise, one butterfly and dogs. Fringe in blue and yellow silk, embroidered on the corners with a metallic silvered thread. Restoration work and defects.Approximate dimension: 241 x 177 cm.
