Description:

Tea set in Portuguese silver, 19th century, made up of a teapot, a sugar bowl and a milk jug. The teapot is of a different model but exhibits a similar decoration. Bodies partially lobed, decorated with a frieze of flowers and plant motifs. Sugar bowl and milk jug with an assay mark from Porto (P-34 or a variant), in use from c. 1843 to 1853, APC (P-171) goldsmith's mark, unidentified, datable to between 1836 and 1853; teapot with an assay mark from Porto (P-29), in use from c. 1836 to 1843, APC (P-166 or a variant) goldsmith's mark, unidentified, datable to between 1836 and 1861.
