  • Nasceu em Lisboa, no ano de 1956. Durante a escolaridade obrigatória, participou em várias exposições e concursos escolares, tendo ganho alguns. Frequentou o curso de Imagem e Comunicação Audiovisual, na antiga escola de Artes Decorativas, António Arroyo, onde se destacou na área de Design, Desenho e Composição. Desenvolve actividades paralelas em cenografia, desenho gráfico, publicitário e vitrinismo.

    Born in Lisbon, in 1956. During his compulsory education, he participated in several exhibitions and school competitions, having won some. He attended the course in Image and Audiovisual Communication, at the old school of Decorative Arts, António Arroyo, where he excelled in the area of ​​Design, Drawing and Composition. It develops parallel activities in scenography, graphic design, advertising and window dressing.

    Daughter of the poet Alberto de Monsaraz, 2nd Count of Monsaraz, Maria Flávia de Monsaraz was born in Madrid on November 23, 1935. At just 16 years old, she entered the Lisbon School of Fine Arts, where she graduated with 19 values ​​in Sculpture. In 1964, he won a scholarship from the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and moved to Paris, where he studied Mural Painting at the Escola das Artes Decorativas and met many of the Portuguese personalities who live in exile there. During these years, Flávia traveled extensively in Europe. On one of these visits, in Lausanne, he was dazzled by an exhibition entitled “La nouvelle Tapisserie”. Upon his return, in 1969, he opened a studio in Campo de Ourique with Carmo D'Orey and Manuel and Graça Costa Cabral; and introduced the “New Tapestry” in Portugal and, for 15 years, worked on the link between Mural Sculpture and Tapestry.
    In the 70s and 80s, she was a partner and manager of the emblematic bar “Metro e Meio”, where various artists and politicians gather. Alongside his activity as a visual artist, he deepened his studies in astrology, but it was from 1985 onwards, after inaugurating, in Rio de Janeiro, the first Congress of Astrology in Portuguese, that he dedicated himself exclusively to the investigation of the symbolic language of astrology. Two years later, he created the Quiron – Portuguese Center for Astrology, promoting the study of astrology and esoteric science in Portugal and introducing alternative therapies such as Reiki. In this context, in addition to being an astrologer, teacher, lecturer, she is the author of many books and CDS.
    Some of his works are represented in the Modern Collection of the Gulbenkian Museum, the Soares dos Reis Museum and the Banco de Portugal collection. She was present at an International Exhibition of Women Artists, organized by UNESCO.
