Tie-dye, acrílico e óleo sobre tela
Dimensões.: 50 x 35 cm.

Sinopse

    Synopsis

Ana Manso’s paintings and installations explore the spaces between contamination, intersection, and exchange, paying close attention to the infinite potential that emerges in the discreet and often overlooked details of everyday life. Rooted primarily in abstraction and, at times, expanding from canvas to mural, her work arises from sensory moments without a predetermined plan, inhabiting the invisible paths where spontaneous gesture meets perception.
The transitional moments that connect action, medium, and external conditions — from the processes of stretching the canvas and preparing its base, to the intimate and pictorial surrenders between creator and work — reveal each painting as a unique and unforeseen force, capable of attracting or repelling the artist’s gestures at any moment. Through the layering of acrylic and oil paint with other media of lesser artistic notoriety (such as tie-dye, stencils, and stamps), the fixed pictorial orientation dissolves into cycles of creation, reflecting the mysticism of transformation and reinvention present in the natural world — tides, moons, seasons, and the artist’s own femininity.
Manso’s slow and ritualistic processes (also born from her experiments with ceramics and other materials) respect the specific rhythms of each entity, granting her paintings a freedom that allows movement between colours, formats, and temporalities of infinite plastic possibility.

Between 2006 and 2007 she was a Socrates/Erasmus Scholar at the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Barcelona.

    Synopsis
