Description:

Casamento de Sant'Anna e São Joaquim, retábulo do séc. XVI, em madeira entalhada, policromada, estofada e dourada. Como figuras principais temos Sant'Ana, representada de mão dada a São Joaquim. Usa véu sobre a cabeça, túnica comprida até aos pés cingida à cintura por cordão e manto sobre os ombros. São Joaquim, de cabelos encaracolados e longas barbas, usa túnica comprida com capuz. Encimando toda a cena está representada Nossa Senhora com o Menino Jesus, desnudo, ao colo, ambos olhando para baixo. Nossa Senhora enverga túnica, com véu sobre a cabeça e manto sobre os ombros. Estão ambos representados sobre flor que se une a São Joaquim e a Sant'Ana através de motivos vegetalistas, à semelhança de uma árvore genealógica. Com argolas para suspender. Gastos, falhas, faltas, vestígios de caruncho e defeitos.

  • Esta peça esteve exposta no 5º Salão de Antiguidades, em Abril de 1970, no Pavilhão Principal da Feira Internacional de Lisboa, no stand do antiquário Jerónimo Portocarrero Baganha.

    This piece was exhibited at the 5th Antiques Show, in April 1970, at the Main Pavilion of the Lisbon International Fair, at the stand of the antiquarian Jerónimo Portocarrero Baganha.

  • Wedding of Sant'Anna and São Joaquim, altarpiece of the 16th century, in carved, polychrome, upholstered and gilded wood. As main figures we have Sant'Ana, represented hand in hand with São Joaquim. He wears a veil over his head, a long tunic up to his feet, girded at the waist by a cord and a cloak over his shoulders. São Joaquim, with curly hair and long beards, wears a long tunic with a hood. At the top of the scene is Our Lady with the Baby Jesus, naked, on her lap, both looking down. Our Lady wears a tunic, with a veil over her head and a cloak over her shoulders. Both are represented on a flower that joins São Joaquim and Sant'Ana through plant motifs, similar to a family tree. With rings to suspend. Spending, failures, faults traces of woodworm and defects.
